Cleveland Chiropractic College to sign historic educational
affiliation with Nambu University
Earlier this year officials from Nambu University in South Korea were on the
Los Angeles campus of Cleveland Chiropractic College to participate in a signing
ceremony for a historic educational affiliation between the schools.
Participating in the ceremony on behalf of Nambu University was Dr. Yong Kee
Cho, founder of Nambu University, and Dr. K.C. Kim, Nambu representative in
Los Angeles. Dr. Carl S. Cleveland III, CCC president, and Dr. Matthew Givrad,
senior vice president for institutional outreach, represented Cleveland Chiropractic
College.
The agreement will provide educational opportunities for the Nambu University
students in Cleveland College’s undergraduate program. Cleveland will
also aid in Nambu’s curriculum planning and development, and will provide
continuing education courses for Nambu alumni. Cleveland students will be able
to enroll in some Nambu University courses, and Cleveland faculty will be involved
in teaching and mentoring Nambu students.
Nambu University has 1,200 students currently enrolled and offers 14 undergraduate
and eight Master’s degree programs. Nambu’s sister college, ChunNam
Techno College, has 4,000 students and offers 20 Associate degree programs.
Palmer Florida to Accept International Students
Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida has received authorization from the Department
of Homeland Security to admit and enroll international students in F-1 status.
As the college’s international student adviser, Student Services Director
Heather Stierwalt, M.A.T., will handle the immigration paperwork for incoming
students.
Asia
Supporting Tsunami Relief
In the past months, the world has shown its generosity toward the tsunami victims
of southeast Asia. Help is still needed. Several chiropractic organizations, including
the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) and World Federation of Chiropractic
(WFC), are urging their members to make personal contributions to reputable charities.
The WFC notes that the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent
Societies and the UNICEF organization are among the agencies working vigorously
with tsunami relief and appreciate all monetary donations. Information on donating
for their efforts can be found at their respective websites: www.ifrc.org and
www.unicef.org.
