Used
and Renewed
The benefits of getting into the profession with lower cost or refurbished equipment
has been well known to new chiropractic practitioners, many of whom are coming
out of school with education debts to pay. While plenty of companies, including
Hessco, have offered refurbished tables and chiropractic practice tools at decent
prices, in Norcross, Ga., a new company, Equipology, is setting out to offer
a variety of pre-owned healthcare equipment. According to Equipology president
Joe Williams, all of the equipment is inspected and re-certified by the companys
engineers prior to resale. Equipology vides a variety of chiropractic equipment,
from tables to stimulators, in addition to traditional medical devices.
Williams says that the company works by locating requested pieces of equipment,
refurbishing and recertifying the equipment before sending it along to the doctor
who requested the item.

Orthotic Revolution
A new high-tech foot analysis system that includes a built-in patient database,
clinical reporting and electronic ordering has won the Masters Circle Product
of the Year award for 2002.
The FAS Scan from Foot Levelers employs digital accuracy to create an orthotic
casting kit, and then uses built-in technology to deliver the patients
information via the Internet to Foot Levelers laboratory. The FAS Scan
information allows Foot Levelers to obtain the same 16 measurements they glean
from a casting kit in order to design their Spinal Pelvic Stabilizers.
Foot Levelers has revolutionized orthotics selection and ordering with its latest
technology called FAS Scan and so we are naming it the Product of the Year,
says Dr. Larry Markson, co-founder of The Masters Circle, the Identity-Based
Personal and Professional Development company that serves doctors of chiropractic
worldwide. The FAS Scan establishes your practice with that progressive
edge, improving patient impression and retention, says Markson. This
is one of the most innovative advances in chiropractic care for years.
